Flamenco fun for kids!

Cicely Nelson Tong is so excited to share the beauty, mystery, passion, and artistry of Flamenco with Los Angeles’ littlest dancers. Her classes teach compas (rhythm), brazos (arms), tablao de pies (foot work), improvisation, and the different palos (styles) of flamenco in a playful and age-appropriate manner.
Cicely has studied with some of the biggest names in Flamenco in Spain, Los Angeles, and Albuquerque: Belen Maya, Maria Juncal, the Encinias family, Manuel Liñan, and Briseyda Zarate, among others. Her earliest training was in ballet and she pursued professional training at the National Ballet of Canada and at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Her career in dance has taken a backseat to careers as a violinist (and music teacher to small children) and Pilates studio owner, but dancing Flamenco continues to connect her to movement and the dance world.
